Features to know about

Smooth, Steady Towing Performance: 72" Round Axle Tracks True

Rough towing and uneven tire wear can take the fun out of hauling. This 72" hub-face-to-hub-face round axle keeps things steady with a built-in camber that ensures even tire contact across the tread. The zero-drop, underslung design rides low and stable, giving you controlled, straight-line tracking mile after mile. Rated for 2,000 lbs, it’s built from high-strength steel so the setup stays solid under load.

Ready to Roll: Pre-Greased Idler Hubs with Bearings and Seals Installed

Packing bearings and fitting hubs can slow down a project. This axle skips the extra steps with cast iron idler hubs that come pre-greased and fully assembled with bearings, races, seals, and lug nuts. The 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern fits 13" to 15" wheels, so you can bolt on and get back on the road faster.

Low Load Height for Easier Loading and Unloading

A trailer that sits just right makes a big difference when you’re lifting gear. With spring seats welded to the underside, this underslung axle lowers the deck for quicker loading. It keeps your trailer easy to handle without sacrificing strength or ground clearance where it counts.

Simple Lubrication and Strong Welds for Long Service Life

Maintenance is straightforward with the Easy Grease spindles and built-in grease zerks. You can add fresh grease whenever you need to without disassembly. The spindles and spring seats are welded on using a patented process that delivers 40% stronger welds, so the axle holds up to years of use without worry.

Tested and Certified for Safety

This axle isn’t just built tough—it’s been put through testing and certified by CSA, QAI, and SAE-N standards for safety and performance. Every component, from the 1-3/4" diameter axle beam to the 1/2"-diameter wheel studs, meets strict specs for reliable strength on every trip.

Worked greaT thank you!

by:

Order came in quickly. Easy to put on t railer.

by:

No washer behind the axle nut. Never seen this before. Time will tell.

by:

Axle seems solid. "Pre-installed" bearings had to be put back in because they slid out easily when installing the hub on the axle. I also had to go out and purchase new cotter pins (both were installed to a point where removing them resulted in one breaking and not trusting the other) and dust caps were heavily dented. That said, axle came 2 days earlier so I got to fish more.

by:

This is actually the second axel I have purchased from you. The last one was about six years ago. I build a 4×6 trailer the we pulled to Florida from Iowa. Axel has been flawless over the years, very low maintenance. I'm about to put my third set of tires on it as I have pulled this trailer all over the place. I've chriscrossed Iowa, Minnesota and Idaho. This is why I need new tires again. Building a 5x8 trailer to accomplish the same thing. I will also be ordering another axel for a boat trailer. Thanks for being there for me through the years and beyond.

by:

good product worked great, had bearings on one wheel go bad and destroyed the spindle so had to replace axel, But don't make the same mistake I did, buy new axel u-bolts I did not relise how much trouble the rusted u-bolts was going to be, save yourself some time and headache get new u-bolt and just cut the old ones off

by:

Great salesman quick shipping will purchase from again.

by:

Good quality axel and everything was included. Customer and technical support were both very helpful as well.

by:

Easy to install and get my trailer back on the road. Delivery was a day or two later than expected but was still pretty fast.

  • Recommended Electric-Over-Hydraulic Disc Brake Kit For A 2022 Grand Design Solitude 3740BH
Hey Michael, Thanks for the serial number of your axle, it made it possible to find the bearings and seal numbers so I could verify what would fit. If you want the best you'll definitely want to go with a DeeMaxx kit like the # DE66AR. This kit includes everything you need from as well as all the smaller hardware to mount your brake lines, which typically isn't included. The only other thing you should need aside from tools to get the job done should be just some high temp grease # L24FR...

  • Recommended 2,000 lbs Axle w/ Idle Hubs That Have a 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt
Hey Mike. We only have axles with 58" spring seats like the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs item # e37YR. You can remove the spring seats and reinstall the Spring Seat for Typical 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles item # TRSS175 so they are a 1/4" over to give you a 58-1/2" span. The Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs item # e37YR is a 2,000 lbs axle that has a 72" hub face and 58" spring center measurements. The included idler hubs have a 5 on 4-1/2 lug nut pattern. You can but it's going to stick out an extra 1-1/2" wide on either side and you'll need to move the spring seats and replace them with a pair of item # TRSS175. I checked our inventory and the etrailer Axle item # e37YR you were looking at is going to be the closest we have to your 69" hub-face-to-hub-face dimension. • Can A 6,000 lb Leaf Spring Be Replaced With A 7,000 lb Spring Without Replacing Axles?
Hello Dave, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to replace a 6,000 lb leaf spring with a 7,000 lb spring, as long as the eye-to-eye length is the same. It will not necessarily increase the carrying capacity of your trailer, since the axles are still 6K rated, but a more stout spring should be less prone to breaking. Generally when we see leaf springs repeatedly break, it is because they are overloaded, or because they are being used in rough conditions, like off-roading. Do you know...

Hey there Mohan. The Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # e37YR you were looking at already has an idler hub on it which is not setup for brakes. You would need to replace the axle with something like # e78GR with brake flange welded on # 4-34. Then you can add drum brakes to the setup. Let me know what you're thinking or what exactly you're trying to do and I can dig deeper for you!

  • Does etrailer Carry 71" Long 2,000 lb Replacement Axle
Hi Dennis; a 71" axle is not something that we carry. However, you can use an axle like the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # e37YR as a replacement. This will stick out an extra 1/2" on either side but it isn't enough of a difference to be a problem. The only other thing that you may need to do is move the spring seats. This axle has a 58" spring center measurement so if yours are different you will have to cut them off and weld on # TRSS175...

Hey Vince, the flanges on hubs of the axle part # e37YR are too large in diameter to fit behind a 12 inch wheel. If you went with a Dexter idler hub instead on this axle like the # 8-259-5UC1-EZ it will work since it has a smaller overall diameter. To go that route it would make more sense to get the axle without hubs part # e78GR. These are not made in the USA... We have a similar Dexter axle that is made in the USA part # T20BTR-EZ-7258.
